About me
Alexa Belton
Artist · Designer · Student
based in Santa Barbara, California.
I am a student at the University of California Santa Barbara pursuing a degree in Sociology and a minor in Media Art & Design.
My projects are influenced by nostalgia, realism, color, nature, and anthropology.
Growing up in the Bay Area with a mixed Black and Chinese background, I have inherently seen and experienced the world through various cultural and sociological perspectives. This has shaped the way I observe people, places, and everyday experiences, leading me to find meaning in the details that go unnoticed.
I believe that beauty is everywhere and that it is built by the foundations of community, resilience, and hope. These ideas shape my approach to my work and motivate me to see through what is immediately visible.
I am able to express my visions of the world through art and design. My projects examine the power of art and design to shape, reflect, and communicate deeper meanings of community, culture, environment, and society.
